Once your reservation is confirmed and your arrival date approaches, you’ll receive detailed check-in instructions via email. This includes directions, gate or door codes, and any other information needed for a smooth arrival. Most of our properties offer keyless entry, so you can check in at your convenience without needing to meet anyone in person.
If you have any questions on arrival day or need assistance during your stay, our local team is just a phone call or text away.
While we do not provide airport shuttle service to the property, getting to your villa is easy and convenient. Taxis and Uber are readily available right outside the airport terminals.
For the best experience and flexibility during your stay, we recommend renting a vehicle. Our trusted local partner, Go Rent A Car, offers reliable service and a wide selection of vehicles—perfect for exploring the island at your own pace.

We understand travel plans can vary, and we’re happy to accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs whenever possible. These options may be available for an additional fee, depending on our booking schedule. In some cases, we’re able to offer complimentary early arrival or extended departure as a courtesy to our guests—but availability is not guaranteed.
Final confirmation is typically provided on the day of arrival (for early check-in) or the day before departure (for late check-out), based on occupancy and cleaning schedules. Please feel free to reach out in advance, and we’ll do our best to make your stay as seamless and comfortable as possible.
Cancellations made more than 120 days before check-in will receive a refund of 50% of the initial deposit. The remaining 50% will be credited toward a future stay, valid for up to 12 months from the cancellation date.
Cancellations within 120 days of check-in will result in the forfeiture of the full rental amount.
Refunds of rental payments and service fees will only be issued under the following conditions:
1. Property Unavailable: On the scheduled check-in day, the property is deemed uninhabitable, inaccessible due to transportation issues, or closed to guests by local authorities.
2. Rebooking: If the villa is rebooked for the same dates and at the same rate as the original reservation. If only part of the stay is rebooked, a proportional refund will be issued.
All refunds, whether full or partial, are subject to a 15% deduction from the deposit(s) paid.
A 30% deposit is required at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. The remaining balance is due no later than 120 days before your arrival. For bookings made within 120 days of the check-in date, full payment is required at the time of booking
Payment plans may be available and are considered on a case-by-case basis. Factors like how far in advance you’re booking, the number of units reserved, and the length of stay all play a role.

We don’t offer all-inclusive wedding packages. To host your wedding at Makoa, you’ll need to rent the entire property. Our team is happy to assist with local vendor recommendations.
To secure your ideal date and location, we recommend booking your Hawaiian destination wedding at Makoa at least 9–12 months in advance. However, we also accommodate last-minute celebrations and elopements based on availability.

Yes, events are welcome at Makoa Resorts, with a few important guidelines in place to ensure a smooth experience. A minimum three-night stay and full-property rental are required to host any on-site event. Event capacity may vary depending on the specific villa, so please contact us to discuss your plans and find the best fit.
Please note: In accordance with Maui County noise regulations for residential neighborhoods, all amplified sound and outdoor noise must be brought indoors by 9:00 PM. Any fines resulting from noise violations will be the responsibility of the guest and deducted from the damage deposit.
No. We provide the location, but all instructors, sessions, and planning are handled by guests or external organizers. We’re happy to connect you with local instructors if needed.
Yes, each unit includes an iron and an ironing board. Steamers are not provided.
Each unit is equipped with a drip coffee maker.
The pool at Villas by the Cove is reserved exclusively for guests staying at that property. Unfortunately, guests at other Makoa Resorts locations do not have access to this pool. Each of our properties is designed with unique amenities to ensure a private and relaxing experience for every guest.
Yes, each unit is equipped with air conditioning and ceiling fans to keep you comfortable throughout your stay. Whether you’re unwinding after a day in the sun or getting a good night’s sleep, you’ll stay cool and relaxed.
Yes! Guests at Makoa Resorts have access to an on-site washer and dryer, making it easy to refresh your wardrobe during your beach getaway. While the laundry facilities are shared among guests, they are conveniently located and detergent is provided. It’s just one of the thoughtful touches that help make your stay at our boutique Maui resort feel like home.
Each unit is designed with comfort and convenience in mind. You’ll enjoy a full set of plush towels and a beach towel per guest, as well as beach chairs, an umbrella and a cooler for your island adventures.
Our villas come stocked with essentials to get you started. In the kitchen, you will find all the needed basics like dish soap, salt, pepper, and cooking oil.
